Oslo West Station
Oslo West Station (Vestbanestasjon or Oslo V) was a major railway station in the centre of Oslo. It was located in the place very close to the current Oslo Central Station, slightly to the west (near Aker Brygge). During its operation it was the main station for trains going from Oslo to the west (Drammen, Sorland, Vestfold). The station was used until 1989.
Today you can still find the West Station building in the place. It is the one with two towers between Oslo City Hall and the ferris wheel, at the western end of Radhuspladsen. The Nobel Peace Center is operating in the building. It is about 10 minutes walk from the current Oslo Central Station. There is a tram stop directly in front of the old West Station building – Aker Brygge.
